Dyslexia Sligo, Leitrim & Donegal
Hello everyone my name is Mary Mc Donald you are all very welcome to my website.
On my website you can see the different educational services I provide to primary, post primary and third level students. I also provide in-service dyslexia training to primary and post primary teachers.
If you would like any more information on any of the services I provide please feel free to contact me.
Dyslexia Screening Test
A Dyslexia Screening test is not a diagnostic test but it does help to raise awareness if your child is at risk of having dyslexia. The screening test will show where your child is experiencing challenges.
The test itself takes approximately one hour to complete. I have Dyslexia Screening suitable for children, teenagers and adults.
Please note a report from an educational psychologist is not needed to complete the Dyslexia Programme.
HOW I CAN HELP YOU
I work individually with each family to
understand their specific needs
In Service Training
Continual Professional Development for both Primary and Post Primary Teachers on Dyslexia
The first part of the Dyslexia presentation will give teachers a really good understanding of the difficulties that students with dyslexia experience.
The topics covered in the presentation are as follows, spellings, reading, eye-tracking, comprehension, sequencing, writing skills and processing speeds.
Hosting Foreign Students.
For many years now, I have taken the opportunity to welcome a foreign student into our home. This model enables the student to improve their oral and written English skills while living in a warm relaxed family atmosphere.
The schedule comprises of formal English lessons each morning followed by educational trips in the afternoons. The activities are all adapted to suit each individual student’s needs and requests.

Transitioning from primary to post primary school is a huge step and one of the most memorable milestones in someone’s life.
Schools are dynamic places that are constantly changing and while the majority of parents in today’s world did attend post primary it was probably very different!!!
