Dyslexia Presentation – To gain an understanding of Dyslexia and how to meet the Student’s Needs in the Primary Classroom.

The first part of the Dyslexia Presentation will give teachers a really good understanding of the difficulties that students with dyslexia experience.

The topics covered in the presentation are as follows: spellings, reading, eye-tracking, comprehension, sequencing, writing skills and   processing speeds.

The second part of the presentation gives practical advice to primary teachers as to the indicators of dyslexia in students from four to twelve years old.

Teaching strategies, homework, well- being and the transition from primary to post primary are all also explored for the pupil who has dyslexia.

This part of the presentation is further broken down to meet the different needs of teachers from different faculties i.e. the humanities, science subjects and practical subjects. It also explains the different terminology used in relation to dyslexia, advise on CBAs and Google Classroom etc.
